between-the-monkey-and-the-robot:
Donald “Duck” Dunn passed away today. He is best know as the bass player of Booker T & The MG’s and The Blues Brother’s band. He was one of the greatest bass player of all time and threw down the bass lines for a good percentage of the Stax recording artists including Otis Redding’s original version of Respect, Sam & Dave’s Hold On I’m Coming. He was one of the founding members of Booker T & The MG’s the first interracial rock group.
RIP DUCK
People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air,but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child — our own two eyes. All is a miracle.
You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover is yourself.
